A 6-months comprehensive part-time course equips students with essential knowledge and skills for the hotel and catering industry. It covers diverse aspects, including service types, menu items, beverage history, equipment usage, table layout, and interpersonal etiquettes for seamless interactions with guests and colleagues.

Course Overview:
Duration: 6 months ( Part-time) 
Eligibility: To enroll in this course, candidates must have passed 10th Standard.

Course objectives:

Acquiring and developing knowledge of the hotel and catering industry and its relevance to their specific roles.

Understanding different types of service techniques.

Familiarity with menu items and their accompanying elements.

Preparing mise-en-place for services efficiently.

Understanding the basics of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including history, composition, and service methods.

Understanding the proper care and usage of restaurant equipment.

Knowing the appropriate table layout for restaurant settings.

Practicing etiquettes and manners when interacting with guests, management, and colleagues.

Course Coverage: 

This course comprehensively covers the development of the catering industry, exploring career opportunities and prospects. It focuses into attributes, types of cutlery, crockery, and glassware, along with special equipment used. Menu planning, table setting, and various sections within kitchens are detailed, emphasizing customer relationship management. Additionally, breakfast service, banquets, buffets, room service, and an extensive range of beverages, including wines, spirits, cocktails, and non-alcoholic options, are thoroughly discussed, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the industry's key aspects.

Practical Training: 
Practical training will be conducted at The Park, Navi Mumbai. 


Certification: 

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive certification from the Maharashtra State Board of Skill, Vocational Education, and Training (MSBSVET). 

Batches: 

The batches for the training are scheduled as follows:
1. July 2024 to December 2024
2. January 2025 to June 2025

Faculty:

 This course will be taught by a highly accomplished and qualified faculty from Apeejay Institute of Hospitality, Navi Mumbai, covering both theory and practical aspects.

Restaurant associate: The primary role involves taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience for guests.

Bartender: Mixes and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, creates cocktails, interacts with customers, and maintains bar operations.

Banquets associate : Working in event venues, banquet servers cater to large gatherings, serving meals and beverages to attendees.

Barista: Operating in coffee shops or cafes, baristas prepare and serve a variety of coffee-based beverages and snacks to customers.

Catering associate: In catering companies or event settings, catering servers assist with setting up, serving, and clearing food and drinks for special occasions and private functions

Cruise Ship associate: On cruise ships, waiters cater to passengers in various dining areas, providing exceptional service throughout the voyage.

In-Flight Cabin Crew: Serving on airlines, cabin crew members attend to passengers' food and beverage needs during flights.

Wine Steward: Specializing in wines, wine stewards offer expertise in wine selection and service, particularly in fine dining restaurants or wine bars.

Entrepreneurship: Food & Beverage personnel can explore entrepreneurship through ventures like Cafés, Restaurants, Cloud Kitchens, Catering businesses, and more, capitalizing on their expertise and passion for the industry.
